Back in the lithography studio yesterday for my 2n

Back in the lithography studio yesterday for my 2nd lithograph print, experimenting with the beautiful and expressive “Tusche” technique. It turned into one of those sessions where everyone got involved - sharing ideas, asking questions, and learning from each other along the way.

A big thank you to Tomomi, our fabulous lithography expert artist and printer at The Art Students League, whose knowledge, patience, and encouragement make the process so inspiring. Moments like this remind me how collaborative printmaking can be - every step reveals something new. Grateful to be learning, printing, and creating together.

Join us for the Student Salon opening night on Monday, March 2nd, 6–8pm, and experience the magick of Boyce Cumming’s Conceptual Painting Class at the Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery (2nd Floor).

On view: a watercolor paper sheet bearing “New York” in rich Black Indian Ink - floated to reveal the raw deckled edges and the integrity of the paper itself. Simple. Intentional. Conceptually dynamic. A meditation on place, presence, and material.

The exhibition is open to the public through Saturday, March 7th.

Back at it this morning in Conceptual Painting at The Art Students League, standing in front of my 6 meter canvas and feeling completely immersed. There’s something magnificent about working at this scale - you don’t just paint imagery, you step inside it.

Conceptual painting has become a way to question how we absorb the constant flood of visuals around us - what we notice, what we ignore, and what stays with us. To translate that internal experience onto a surface this large feels like both a responsibility and a gift. Art lets us process the world… and then bravely expose that process to others.

So grateful to be part of Boyce Cummings’ Conceptual Painting class - some of the most fearless creativity I’ve witnessed in a long time. The energy, the experimentation, the honesty - it feels good.

As Alison Jones, painting this tribute to New York City feels deeply personal. With “I’m a Native New Yorker” playing in the background, I get completely lost in the rhythm of it all - the skyline, the movement, the memories.

I truly LOVE painting this piece. It makes me feel like a kid again… footloose, fancy free, and full of wonder. There’s something so special about going big - about letting every brushstroke carry joy, freedom, and a little bit of magic 🪄

So grateful to be on this creative journey. ✨

There’s something about this city - the movement, the noise, the ambition - that pushes me to create bigger, bolder, louder. Painting this feels like translating pure energy into color and form.

Grateful to channel the rhythm of the streets into something I can stand inside of. 🗽🎨
